What it means

When the main board signals the motor to start, it anticipates a return signal from the inverter. If that feedback is missing, if there is a phase failure, or if the drive motor draws too much current, the system triggers the E58 code to prevent electrical fires or further damage. This is strictly a motor drive circuit issue. Proper diagnostics involve checking the wiring harness for continuity, inspecting the 3-phase drive motor windings for shorts, and confirming the DC voltage output from the main board to the inverter.
